Founded in 2005 by Jake Spinowitz, a 15 year old teenager who has a profound hearing loss, Lend An Ear Long Island is a collection site for used hearing aids based throughout Long Island, New York. With the help and support of his brothers, over time Jake has developed Lend an Ear Long Island. Aware of the high cost and lack of coverage for the hearing impaired, Jake and his brothers are committed to give the gift of hearing to all in need.
At Lend An Ear Long Island, old or un-used hearing aids are collected from various professionals, such as audiologists and physicians. These hearing aids are then sent to various organizations who in return refurbish them and distribute them amongst those in the hearing impaired community who cannot otherwise afford to purcahse these costly hearing aids.
Donations of used hearing aids are greatly appreciated and accepted no matter what the condition. If you're generous enough to give them, we're glad to take them.
